Very strange phenomenon ... they always used to (or did they?)

Elaboration: the question posed in parentheses, is because I don't remember if I've even used the Live View mode with any of my Sigma lenses in the past ... the cameras in question are the D3200, D5300 and D5500. The lenses in question are the Sigma 18-250 OS HSM Macro, and 18-200 OS HSM. The Nikkor 18-55 VR and the Nikkor 16-85 VR are not a problem. But, the Sigma 70-300 APO Macro - also stalls AF after initial press. However, since that lens works fine on the D7100 and D7000 - clearly - that is a different situation. Any ideas? ... Will a downloaded patch rectify this, or just make it worse?

Further tests have revealed the problem is intermittent with the D3200 and D5500, but consistently fails with the D5300 - which incorporates a GPS. So, I wonder if it could be the GPS which is upsetting the AF in Live View? ... Any thoughts? ... Any feedback at all would be very much appreciated ....
May be because it's RED Chris?

Yathink?
Actually, D ... I have five red DSLRs - these three Nikons, a Canon T3, and Pentax K-50 ... don't think the color has much to do with it.
The D5300, particularly, though - plagues me ... but, the problem only happens with the two Sigma lenses, not with either of the two Nikkors.
It seems to come and go, with those lenses attached to the D3200 and D5500 - which leads me to believe the problem may be GPS-related ....
Although, you know - I do have that constant blinking problem with the K-50 ... maybe, you have something, there! Should I paint them all black?
No your Red Nikon's are really Crimson Red and to fix it you should try to paint them in Indigo Blue.

Actually, D ... the Pentax K-50 is scarlet, whilst the EOS Rebel T3, is more like a metallic red ....
The three Nikons are all the same - as you can see in the Icon picture ... more like a light burgundy, or cranberry ...
Pentax made the K-30 and the K-50 in Indigo, but they also had it in Cobalt Blue ...
The later Pentax K-S1 was offered in Denim Blue - with a Denim Fabric coating, as well ... neat-looking ...
I don't think it's a good idea to paint cameras, D ... they are what they were made to be ... and should be left that way ... IMHO ....
