Nice photo--rather different from your usual offerings.

At first glance, I thought it was a shot from the 1960s. Then it struck me as "The last of the Irish". I'm not going to go in that direction. Too many old jokes.

The shot is Voss well done, as per usual. However, beyond that, I see it only as several vignettes possible. Others may see more.

Beautiful church building - sadly, it looks like it might have a very small congregation.

You're right, Sue, it is a beautiful church building. I can't comment on it's membership, though.

Voss-
Your great pics are always contrasty and detailed. How do you expose--over or under, and what post do you routinely do, other than cropping?
Keep'em coming!

Unusual for you but nice. Shows a small congregation departing after service. Seems to be normal these days.

Thanks, Pilot 6. I leave the exposure to the camera, by generally shooting in full auto. I shoot in RAW and sometimes adjust the exposure or shadows to even things out a bit. This and the cropping are done in Elements. I then switch to Silver Efex Pro 2 (The Nik Collection). The first (and most significant) thing I do is jack up the Structure slider. Next, I increase the blacks using the Brightness (Shadows) slider. After that, it depends. I usually apply a light vignette. I may apply a yellow filter to lighten skin tones. And I may apply spot lightening or darkening, just depending. This latter step is possible using Silver Efex Pro 2, and is a neat thing to have. Then I move it back to Elements to make the photo a little lighter. I finish it off by increasing the overall contrast and brightness. It may sound complicated, but once you see what you're doing, it's really not. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Jeff. Yes, it does seem to be the "new normal."
