Ipad or Ipad Pro In Lieu of Wacom

It seems like we're pretty close to being able to use an Apple Ipad or Ipad Pro, along with an Apple Pencil or other stylus device, (or, maybe use an Android pad and stylus) instead of a Wacom Cintiq-type device. In particular, I'm interested in using such a device for editing in Lightroom CC Classic (NOT Lightroom CC) and Photoshop. Is anyone doing this? Are you happy with the results?
I saw a Tony Northrup video in which he was doing something similar.
It seems to me that if we could use a tablet and stylus linked to our PC or MAC, we'd get the benefit of editing on the image, as well as being able to use the tablet for many other purposes - the best of all possible worlds!

I use an iPad Pro but as far as I know, there is no full LR/PS. Only LR CC. But for $19.99, you can get Affinity and it does all you would ever want. Otherwise, I love the IPad Pro.

duet can probably provide the link you need , pretty sure it provides pressure sensitivity from the ipad pro. Recently there was an issue with an osx update 10.13.4 that stopped this working, you will need to check the current status.

I use an iPad Pro with the Apple pencil and it does a wonderful job of editing. I love the fact that I’m not hunched over
a computer in my office. I can take my iPad to my favorite chair by the fire in the winter or the screen porch in the summer. I also love the option that I can edit, sort, etc my photos on a road trip when it’s my wife's turn to drive.

Are the files you're editing - and the editing software - on your iPad, or your computer? Or, are you working "in the cloud" ?

The question that was asked was is it possible to use the iPad (or a Surface?) in lieu of a dedicated graphics tablets.
The answer is yes. Of course there are pros and cons. The experience may not be equal to that of a good graphics tablet. However the iPad (or Surface) is more versatile. A quick search of the internet brings up quite a lot of info on the subject.

My photos are on my computer, iPhone, iCloud and iPad at full size. The editing software is on my iPhone and iPad.
I use my iPad Pro and mobile apps like Snapseed, TouchRetouch to do most of my general editing. I also have the
app "Infinity" downloaded on my iPad but haven’t had to used it yet. The mobile apps I use are improved and updated
in a timely matter and are either free or a couple of dollars. Snapseed (a Google/free app) and will do almost everything I need including vertical and horizontal perspective correction, layers, masks et. TouchRetouch ($1.99)is just great for removing unwanted objects and has a very good clone brush. Good Luck

I'm using a Microsoft Surface Studio... a little pricey, but great color, pen input for selections and masking in PS, and 28" touchscreen that tilts down to use as tablet.

in the meantime i bought astropad although the subscription version is better it lets you export part of your screen on a mac to the ipad and use the apple pencil to apply drawing effects.
