Just curious. Is it possible to use a camera video and pause a perfect frame and snap a photo of it? It would seem to me and good way to capture a memorable moment.
Can be done in video editing software.

Take it to walmart. you can extract the frames from a vid and print or save to disk.
That sounds like a great idea.

I have had a D7100 for several years, but am just using the movie parts of it over the past week. I have not done it, but in looking up settings to begin the process, I remember the User Manual having a section that allows that to be done, in camera. You might check your Manual.
I have a D7100 and just recently used the movie function. I found that the camera will shut down if you use it with live view mode. It will over heat and temporary shut down. The manual tells you about it over heating but I did not catch it when I read the manual. Did not hurt the camera but will never do that again!

Yes, there a several video editing programs out there, that let you do that!
You can do it in lightroom cc, and probably Photoshop Classic CC

Never had a problem with either of my D7100s.
It can also be done with Windows 10 Photo Viewer.
I do it with LR Classic CC
On both my Canon camera bodies, 1DXii and 5Div, when shooting video you can select a single frame as an 8meg picture.
