Blame Bob Yankle - his series of Iris had me watching for the ones in my yard to bloom
Two 1/2 years ago I got two pots of Iris - one bright yellow, the other lavender. Then the blooms in the two pots started to have mixed colors.
This is really my second bloom but the first one only lasted a day and a half when a hot dry wind killed it before it was fully open. So no pics.
This one I spotted while after birds with the 100-400 mk 2 and extender so I grabbed a few frames. Wasn't easy since we have fairly strong winds today and the flower was moving a lot. Back lighting by late morning light.
The pot that started as lavender has some buds, I wonder what color they will be?
That is nice--my favorite flower.

Very pretty indeed....Rich
You did something in post processing that is special and would probably benefit from a pure black bkg.
