Same as without the flash. What seems to be the problem?
Set up the shot (exposure, flash etc.)
put the Expodisc on
take a shot
use image as your custom w/b
I thank you. Have a good day.
I think it would be rather tricky. As I understand it, the ExpoDisc is used to read incident light rather than reflected light. That means you put the ExpoDisc over the lens, stand where your subject is located, and read the light from your light source. If you are using on-camera flash, or an off-camera flash held near the camera, you cannot get a light proper incident light reading.
A gray card, on the other hand gives you a reflected light reading--the light reflected from your subject. You take a shot of the gray card (being held by or close to your subject) and use that to set the custom white balance.
What results do you get when you set your WB to electronic flash?

I use it exclusively in reflected mode, flash or no flash. You can use it in incident mode but as a practical matter, reflected is fine.
With flash,I set up for the picture following my camera's instructions for a CWB. I use the expo disc pointing toward the subject and take the CWB with flash firing.
A rep from expo disc told me that was fine.
I asked a similar question of the Expodisc people.I was asking what you would do if you couldn't get to where the subject would be.They said in that case, just take a shot from where you are.
