sunset was in January in Michigan
moon shot not really too bad with a standard $400 lens.
had about 2 minutes before it was gone
laying on my back under a tripod
The moon shot seems to have a little motion blur, what was your shutter speed?
i love the sunset shot!! beautiful!!
$300 Vanguard carbon fiber sturdy..
Thank you. 12 degrees above 0 was a little chilly though.
jerm: what size lens did you use?? very sharp photo.

Well shoot, I don't know what else to suggest.
The sunset is good.
jerm: your 400mm lens gets my 300mm lens, although i have crop factor of 2.0 to your 1.6(i think)-which gives you 640mm equiv. maybe you are a little closer in colorado than in michigan.

Photo is very good, did you use a remote shutter release or time delay?
hahaha....at that temp Jack was shivering!!!
Makes me cold just thinking about it.
Nice photos!
Jacks, you could also use the mirror lockup feature of your camera to prevent the camera shake. I know for some canon dslr it would be in the advanced configuration menus. I don't know how to do it on other cameras. You just have to look for that in your camera manual.
Nice pics. The sunset is awesome.
