I May Have Just Found My Best Portrait Lens.

Even when I don't go out I rarely go a day leaving my cameras alone. Probably more than he would like my dog often becomes the subject for my obsession with my cameras. At any rate I love the sharpness and creamy blur that long lenses give as in the images below. But of course such a large lens is impractical for portraits but I did have fun processing these images.

All shot at 500mm at aperture f/4 then down sampled.

A- The f stop or any settings is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond what I know/care to know. Would have been an A+ if you had it in AUTO with no gimmicts!

Thanks Carol, thanks illininitt, no gimmicks, just AV mode and choosing an ISO that will support the length of the lens in covered patio.

a sure way to respond when someone says "oh the equipment doesn't matter".......and knowing how to use it is even better

Thanks Bob, Thanks Mike, Bob, I still think that the person behind the eyepiece is the most important piece of equipment, I am certainly not talking about myself because I still have much to learn and have much more to explore in photography...

yes indeed I understand, and we both understand that top end equipment makes a difference in the end product, and thats not to under appreciate or take away from the craft involved, I've taken some awesome pics with my cell phone camera(IMO) wink...........
