Steelers and Browns used to be a fierce rivalry back in the 70's and 80's, now their just a team not going anywhere. As good as Mayfield is, I don't see him turning the team around since the Browns organization don't have coaches to develop good young players. Maybe someday.

As, I stated in an earlier thread. The Cleveland Browns have been the most MISMANAGED Team in the NFL during the past decade. From top to bottom. Thank goodness they have a decent baseball and basketball teams. The Cavaliers won a Championship in 2016. The Cleveland Browns have never been to a Superbowl game. And they are one of the older NFL franchises.

That's interesting. I didn't know that. Hopefully, Mayfield can revive the hopes of Browns fans. I just hope they don't expect too much in the first season from him. The Cleveland Browns are the #1 mismanaged team in the NFL for a decade. Mayfield has a feisty attitude. Perhaps, this is what the Browns need. Johnny Manziel had an attitude, but not the skills. He had an alcohol drinking problem while at the Browns. And he had to go to rehab. Which was worthless time spent there for him. He says he sober now? Without a quarterback job.

I hope that Mayfield has a great run with the Browns. They "Claim" that he will spend this season learning from Tyrod Taylor and Drew Stanton. Knowing how things go though, the first time Cleveland is down by 2 touchdowns, he will probably get sent in. As for the Arkansas issue, OU players have had several run-ins with Little Rock and Ft Smith legal authorities. Keith Jackson (who lived in Arkansas) had rocks and other things (some flammable) thrown through his mother's front window when he signed with OU. While the University of Arkansas is not a direct competitor of OU, they do fight for many of the same players. So, when Mayfield had trouble there, it was no surprise.. and yes, he was legally drunk (how many 20-21 year old college students have never been drunk? (other than at Brigham Young University)). As for the Kansas game, I have it recorded and even the announcers were shocked at some of the things that were going on. Even after the Non-hand shake, 3 of the Kansas defensive players should have been ejected from the game for cheap shots on Mayfield and one other for a cheap shot on an OU running back.
Having graduated from OU, I follow many of the current and past players in their professional careers. Yes, while I hated the Eagles, I was a fan while Sam was there... and the Vikings, and even the Rams when they were like the Browns are now.

I wonder did Quarterback Jim McMAhon of Brigham Young University ever got drunk? He was a rebel too. Arkansas. I think of Jerry Jones and Barry Switzer. Former Oklahoma coach. The two were Arkansas Razorbacks teammates. Jerry hired Barry as Dallas Cowboys coach in the 1990s.

Baker Mayfield of Oklahoma was drafted #1 OVERALL, to the Cleveland Browns. He's known in the State of Ohio, because he beat the Ohio State Buckeyes at home last year. An upset win. There is no love between the Browns and the Steelers. Goes back decades. Now, the rivalry in the future, will be between two Oklahoma quarterbacks. Mayfield will start immediately. The Oklahoma State guy will have to wait until Roethlisberger of Pittsburgh retires. Two more years at least. The Mayfield Jersey is already for sell online. The Steelers own the Cleveland Browns from past years. Perhaps the Browns will get a win once in awhile?

Landry Jones is the backup for Roethlisberger. Another Ex-OU quarterback. Jones is pretty good too. Rudolph may be sitting on the bench a long time waiting for his chance. BTW I am a graduate of Oklahoma State, but I am a die-hard Sooner Fan. I grew up a Bud Wilkinson Sooner fan.
