It looks like it might be a 4-6-2 Pacific, a fast passenger loco from anywhere between 1905 or so to the early 1950s. I could be wrong because I can only see a part of it.
This is probably a narrow, 3-foot, gauge, 2-8-0, or 2-8-2 steam engine, most likely from the series of engines that were provided by the US Army during WW 2. Need a more complete photo to be sure. Look up Whitepass and Yukon Railway on Wikipedia, for more information and photos.
