Thank you. Years ago (with film and early dslr work), I used a tripod and a Nikon pano head. Today I do hand held panos 98% of the time. The only time I'd use a tripod would be night panos or slow shutter speed situations. The key ingredients are: using full manual exposure, keeping the sensor plane level, and allowing for overlap between frames. Most PP software will do a decent stitch after that point.
