Saildog, Only you know if you need the Tripod, after all you will be shooting a wedding. As for the lens, I think your selection is perfect. I'm leaving for a month tour in the UK shortly and basically taking the same relative gear. I'm shooting a Canon 5dIII. I think we sometime forget that one does not carry all his gear every day, but the selection of choice is photography!
Confused enough?
Have fun, bring what you want, you wonβt be disappointed π
Take a 18-300 lens and polarizing filter. Not having to change lenses is worth the rental. If you plan many trips consider buying. There are lens rental places you can find online.
I was in Orvieto for a week 18 months ago. I took all my equipment. Left most of it in the bag. At that time I was shooting with a Canon 70D. With that body and an 18-135mm Canon lens, that was all I needed in and around Orvieto, through the Dolamites, Venice, Switzerland. Like others have said many times in UHH, travel light. I am now shooting with a Fuji XT2 (light and compact). Spent a ton of money on all Fuji lenses to fit that body and to cover any and every situation. In two weeks I am heading to New Zealand and Australia. Should I take ALL my lenses just in case that one shot is there with a specific lens? Or will I be able to capture 95% of everything with my 18-135 Fuji lens? Or, because it is smaller and lighter should I just take the 18-55mm lens? All interesting questions we all must ask ourselves as photographers. I am not a professional but certainly capture some great "professional" images every once in a while. Ok, I have talked myself into this. The 18-135mm and my prime 35mm 2.8. It's not very big. All this fits into one small and light bag. Enjoy Orvieto and the surrounding towns. Try and get to Assissi, Civita di Bagnoregio, and Montepulciano for the wine. I wish I could remember the 2 great restaurants I ate at. However, you will be in Italy where all food and wine is wonderful.
Have fun!

Don't. All you need is your body, something like a 28 - 300 lens, a 50, 35 or 24 mm f/1.4 for nightime, a CPL and a UV filter, a buncha memory cards and 4 batteries. Get yourself a USB battery charger and you're set. I've found that on a vacation, less weight is more. Oh yeah, get a Platypod.
Yes, second what he said.
Make sure you take several electric plug adapters... several in case u loose one
Good advice from the other hogs. You don't need anything more than what you have to enjoy Italia and take lots of images. I have been to Italy and it is great. I don't know the area that you are going but Rome, Venice and the Amalfi Coast, especially, Poisitano, are amazing. Enjoy the trip.
The 24-70 will be your "go to" lens for everyday photos. The 50mm will do well also in dark churches. And, the wide angle is excellent for some architectural photos. Sounds like you have it covered!
