The D3xxx and D5xxx series Nikons have a pentamirror viewfinder. If you go with a D7xxx series or above Nikon you get a superior pentaprism viewfinder. The glass prism inside gives a larger, slightly brighter view through the viewfinder. You also get the U1 and U2 memory settings on the mode dial.

I believe all Nikon lenses DX or FX Will fit any Nikon camera made in recent years. But certainly will look into it before Buy another camera as I presently shoot the D 500
I upgraded from my D5500 to a D500 . . . So I've kept the D5500 as my backup. However, whenever the day comes that I can afford it . . . I will get another D500. The controls, features, buttons, etc. are too different between the two . . . I'd rather have a backup that is exactly the same as my primary. So if money is not an issue, get another D500 . . . MHO . . .
