Hal, Thanks for sharing your capture of Allentown Pa. Park. You did great!
You got to much oil on your camera
Nice shots of a beautiful park. I have dreamed of living in a house such as #1. I appreciate the memorial to those who served in the CBI theater; my father served there, an area mostly forgotten.
Nice set Hal...hope to visit Pennsylvania some day.
I remember as a kid going to Allentown to visit my aunt and uncle and my cousins. I remember my cousin taking me to a park. I can't remember if it was called Dorney park or Downey park. Just wondering if it's still around.
Nice photographic tour! As a kid, I used to visit my Grandmother in Bethlehem and we would often go to Allentown with her.
Great set Hal. Thanks for takin us along on your walk. I especially like the two shots of the statue. Well done.

The park photographed is West Park, in Allentown. (I was born in and have lived most of my life in Allentown.) West Park was created in 1909, the first of nearly 2000 acres bequeathed to the city by General Harry C. Trexler.
http://trexlertrust.org/ West Park was designed as an arboretum containing 78 varieties of trees and more than 300 varieties of shrubs. Allentown has 13.75 acres of park per 1000 residents.
