It was cold yes, about -20 C (or more that day).
It's the place I'm living, SØR-FRON, in the mountains.

I like the image very much, perhaps because of my experience and affection for boreal forests but, maybe crop 20% of the sky- the part similar to the very busy fore and middle ground- thus leaving the smooth, flat clouds as a place for viewers to rest their eyes.

Generally, a few freckles of absolute black in an image is a good thing- I don’t see that here- but, given snow is such a great light reflector, true black isn’t, in reality, as common as one would normally expect… so, the image appears accurate.

Bottom right corner is warmed by the birch trees’ tiny twigs and suggests an off color “square-ish” block, incongruous with the image’s overall tonal quality. Haven’t yet made up my mind re: white balance…

On the whole, I like and appreciate the image… makes me want to put on a sweater, throw another log on the fire and play some Edvard Grieg.
