Gee, guess I was unaware that some of my photography was “minimalist.” The idea is interesting, and I have always included what I call “micro-scenes,” small simple aspects of nature that would not qualify as landscapes.

Sorry, I just saw the post, only a couple of month's late. I love that minimalist approach, where it is about the primary subject with no interference from anything else. On this photo, I spot metered on the flower itself and all the dark green leaves that were in shadows in the background just disappeared.

You all do know this challenge was way back at the beginning of February, right?

It looks like there's still pretty much interest. Do these "challenges" time out after a certain number of days? Maybe there should be a permanent topic or something for minimalist pictures.

I would definitely call this 'Minimalist' and... it's absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for posting.

I agree that there is alot of interest in this topic. I did not make the original challenge, but they are normally a few days each. This one has gone on longer than any I have seen though.

This is one I have posted before but think it applies to the challenge?

The tree looks like a graceful dancer bowing to the audience. It's a great shot.

Very nice. Looks like a Rothko.

Mine:
1. Minimal County road
2. Basement recessed light
3. Street with tuck and streetlight

Number 3 - about as minimalist as you can get! Only the essentials. "This was omitted on my new theory that you could omit anything if you knew that you omitted and the omitted part would strengthen the story and make people feel something more than they understood." (Ernest Hemingway)
