the oldest private airport in Mass. is closing forever. on April 1 2018. i did a final tour of what's left before the condos go up.
not much of an artistic shoot. but many thousands have learned to fly there. some of you may know the place. and would like to see it one more time.
i will post a few. but if anyone wants the full set. write me a note or go to my facebook page . where i posted them all

The passing of these old airports saddens me. Some local historical organizations may want those photos in the future.
Nice work!

This saddens me too, but its now common all over the country. There is a website, "
www.airfields-freeman.com" that deals with this subject that is sad but very interesting.
Thanks for sharing.....

My old airport (10C) was barely saved from annihilation from a developer. Someone else bought it, though and improved it. Haven't been out there in several years. Also flew out of 3CK. My current EAA chapter is at CPS (right across from the Arch) is home to a couple original Curtiss Wright hangars and is where the Greater St. Louis Air and Space Museum is located...not huge, but chocked full of artifacts, including space suits. Free, but there is a donation box.
