Hi Folks, my wife wanted to go shopping today so while she was doing that, me and my camera took an adventure to see what kind of interesting things we could find. I come across some old buildings that I'd guess to be from the late 1800's (the old house) to the early 1900's (the brick buildings). I just love interesting architecture of days gone by. They are treasures in my eye. I hope you enjoy my day out during rain threatening skies to get these jewels.

Excellent work, James. I too love the old architecture style of buildings. It's always a shame when they're torn down and something modern is put in their place. Fortunately, those old buildings were made to last. There are a few buildings in my neighborhood that are terrible looking pieces of work. They tend to stand out like a sore thumb. Hurts my eyes.

There are buildings that hail back to the time that Nashville was on the Western border of the United States.

I enjoyed your shots and the memories the buildings evoked of when I traveled in the area as part of my sales territory.

Side note: It seemed that I managed to get myself in the middle of several funeral lines for deceased C&W stars when I got into Nashville.

Just want to mention one of my favorites. The US Customs building in Nashville. Cornerstone laid in by Rutherford B. Hayes himself. (No, I wasn't there when he did that.)

Thanks for sharing your day. These buildings are so interesting and you photographed them beautifully. I hate to see old structures taken down for a parking lot or such. Much more interesting than the steel and glass of today.

Very nice, James. They just don't build them like they use to do they? They were Grand indeed.

Old buildings certainly need a lot of loving care. These are lovely.

Great shots...adore the last lovely Victorian Lady. I lived in a house like that when first married...purchased for $22,000, it was about 120 years old in 1972. Your wife needs to go shopping more often so we can see more photos like these. 😁
