My mother's pasta sauce was her signature dish. She usually made it for large family gatherings. First course was a big bowl of pasta followed by a salad and the meat from the sauce. This sauce brings back fond memories every time I make it.
When my mother passed away, I gave everyone in the family a looseleaf book of her recipes. I've begun taking photographs every time I cook one of her dishes to insert in the family recipe books. Mom's legacy to our family is her cooking.

Your comment gave me a big laugh, loosecanon. 😄
Even at 6:30 in the morning, this looks mighty tasty, John! Illustrating the cookbooks with photos of the dishes is a fantastic idea, full of family love and happy memories - and hopefully enjoyed by many generations to come.
Mouth watering. My MIL was a great Italian cook. There could never be too much food.

Thank you very much, Linda. I thought food photography might be good during the winter months but wanted a theme. Illustrating the family cook books seemed like a good idea. I'm glad you like it and took the time to leave such a warm and encouraging comment.

Thanks, Dave. Glad you liked it. The word my mother used to describe the generous servings of food was abbondanza. It must mean eat until you explode. 😀
John, that looks delicious!!! My mother also made the best pasta and sauce every Sunday... but me being a not very good Italian cook, have made it maybe a handful of times since I'm married...
It's wonderful that you have her recipes and shared with your family... wonder legacy!!!
What a fantastic idea, John, to illustrate your mother's mouthwatering recipes using your photography skills. This looks great, I can only imagine the taste of it. What a fine tribute to your mother, something to allow those who have come after to know her better.
