Bozsik: I flew from Chicago to Denver last year. My main attraction was going to Red Rocks Amp. I went early in the day and was able to walk the amp and get on stage. Next was Pikes Peak/Garden of the Gods/Royal Gorge/Black Canyon/Colorado National Monument and a beautiful Maroon Bells. Completing my circle was RMNP. Great time. LOTS of pictures....no birds. Year before that was fly into LV and head straight to Grand Canyon then Horseshoe Canyon/Monument Valley and up to Utah for the 5 National Parks in a row. Then my last two days was LV at the Luxor. Little did I know at that time....but Mandalay Bay right across the street would be so famous. This year I again fly into Denver (Southwest miles) and head to the Black Hills/Custer St. Park/Mt. Rushmore/Sturgus/Needles Highway/Badlands. At no time did I take a picture of birds.

illininitt, is too bad you were not able to get any good photos of birds. Colorado has so many beautiful birds including the Western Tanager that is one of my favorites. It does not get any better than a well placed bird in a mountain setting!
Don't you just love the little Picas! Did you know they are in the rabbit family? They are also somewhat endangered. Great photos!
Yes they are Lagomorphs. People have been petitioning for them to be on the endangered list here in California, but nothing has been advanced in that regard.
Dave, interesting set! No matter what other people would do.
Thanks, Mike. Everyone has their preferences. I just enjoy everything in the outdoors and try to capture unusual and the common to share. Thanks for your comment.
