Great photo, John. It likely will not be too long before that old barn crumbles. It is a slow disappearing act of days gone by. Sad, really.

Thanks for taking a look.

Nice one, John. However, a few trips to Loews or Home Depot and it'd be back to livable in short order. I'm not real demanding on my residences.

Great exposure! Sorry to see these old barns disappear. Virginia, NC, & MD. have Tobacco Barn Preservation Project. Since its inception, the Tobacco Barns Preservation Program in VA. has received 3 awards, repaired 25 tobacco barns, and has created at least 10 jobs.

Well at least you captured an image of it before it completely falls. Sad how so many old barns there are these days. Many in worse shape than this one. Modern farms use those huge metal pre-fab buildings which just have the same appeal to me. Great Job John...!

If you’re not too picky, you might be right.

Thanks for looking. There is a similar project in here Indiana called the Indiana Barn Foundation. It helps people with preservation projects and offers a tour for the public every year, each in a different part of the state.

I undestand. The only problem is that these old guys are totally unsuited for modern farming methods, and the upkeep is simply too costly to maintain them. Added to that is the fact that there aren’t very many farmers any more.

Thanks for looking, James.

Thanks. It’s on a county road southwest of Alexandria, Indiana. If you saw this one, you were really off the beaten path. It’s several miles from the nearest state road.

I grew up there and travel alot of country roads, way more interesting! Thanks.

Fine shot jaymatt, like transition from the barn and trees to the cornfield.
