I went to the Photography Show in Birmingham yesterday, it was an excellent exhibition and all the camera manufacturers, all the lens makers and several major camera dealers were there.
There was one notable exception, there was no sign of Adobe PhotoShop although there were several other well-known photo editors in attendance.
Adobe obviously has no interest in the UK market.
Adobe is a favorite to beat-up but realistically they are probably the best around at their craft. I see MS has discontinued their direct competitor to Adobe (Expression Studio). Also, if you had purchased Adobe stock a year or so ago you would have nearly doubled your money ($124 to $230). May not like them but they seen to know what they are doing.
Robincharlesace, and UK friends. I love your influence here on this forum. I especially appreciate the sprucing up my vocabulary gets with the Mother Tongue vernacular. I find it, at once, charming and amusing. Knackered, indeed!

PS: As a Silicon Valley veteran, in my opinion, Adobe has had its corporate head firmly lodged in their trousers for a generation.
The products are excellent, but even Lightroom is harder to learn and use than it ever needed to be.

I was there yesterday (Tuesday). Looking in the printed guide to the Photography Show I see that Adobe had the 'Adobe Theatre' where there were lectures and demonstrations on all four days at the rate of seven per day, and not all repeats of Saturday's. I do not call this a lack of Adobe at the show! While I did not attend any of them I was aware they were there especially as there was a large sign clearly saying "Adobe Theatre"
