The light wasn't quite right this morning so I used a flash at -1 mounted on a bracket to the right of the camera. The windows on the blind are triangular so I use this mounting method to access the widest point of the window. Otherwise the flash is partially blocked.

I prefer shooting without a flash but the light at times does not co-operate.

Nicely done. Looks very natural.

The flash really helped fill in the shadows, saving the shot. What lens and flash did you use?

Thanks for asking. Tamron 100-400 and SB800 on TTL.

I was looking at an SB700 myself. I'll check out the difference. How do you like the Tamron? I have the (newly purchased) Sigma 150-600, and love the reach. Taking some practice to use well.

The Tamron handles well due to its size and weight. It focuses fast and is very sharp. I like it.

Good to hear. This is my first long zoom. Gets better each time I use it.

Nice use of flash. Nothing wrong with using fill flash considering how much better that can work with today’s units. Your results look very natural to me.
