Thank you so much sharpshooter, I've not posted many images on UHH but your post title really caught my attention as I think out of the box suits my aspirations. I hope this thread continues and I will gladly post more. And the red dress is definitely one of my favs. This is me and my family: Christmas pic portrait. "Have a spec-tacular Christmas"
Ben, this is a great shot! Very creative and OOTB.
Yes Xmas is a nice time to shoot. Every year I do a number of holiday family shots for clients. One of my Models brings her 3 boys for a family shoot and they have a color theme so she brings these gift box props and since I don’t charge her she leaves them with me. I can’t post her family shots but I can post one of my other models dressed as Santa!!!
I always put her gift box props to good use then store them till the next year.
Thanks for posting that great Xmas shot. It should give others plenty of ammo for December!! Thanks

Good one.
Thanks. C and C also welcome ( even when it hurts) I think I could try Photoshop to improve the hair shape for starters.

A picture of my nephew, before and after. A grab shot when I had my 300mm lens on at the zoo. The rest is Photoshop.
Beautiful image, not just the usual kids smile. How do you rate the 300mm as a portrait lens ? I've used a 135mm and, at full body distance had models ask me to speak up.

Just looks like fun! Lots of ideas here.
I just started taking people shots this year. I am mostly a nature photographer. I can't figure out how to get edited photos posted, but I did take out the door knob and the clock. Be kind. :D:D

THanks, however they are just images of what I had in my mind. Not photographs.

Hey, you’re off to a great start! Study, look, listen, then put what you learn into practice. Before you know it your shots will start to look professional!!!

I think if you did a fairly tight crop you would have a very nice portrait. Might have to do a square one.

Thanks, I didn't think about cropping.
