What is your experience?
I was one of the first to have this great camera. The very first day.
When I would look at the rear where the buttons are only some would light. i.e. menu, ok, +, -, fn2 ---just the left side. This was a great selling point.
But only the left side. I was watching YouTube the other day about the D500 and the rear showed all the rear buttons were lite.
I called Nikoin and the camera they have for their use only lite as mine does. ( left side only ) Maybe since it was one of the first delivered then they upgraded it.
What is your experience.?
Mine is 1 year old . . . Left side and left top and top screen only . . . No buttons on right . . .

Interesting π·π·π·π·π·π·π·π·π·π·
Consistent with other Nikons. It is the top and left side buttons where illumination is needed and practical.

Left side and top screen, I've never seen one where all the buttons light up. Are you sure it wasn't just reflected light from the studio lights used in the video? Highly unlikely Nikon would make a change like that during a production run of a camera, the next generation sure, but midstream I wouldn't think so. Same lighting scheme is on the D5 and D850 all down the left side.

Do you have a link to that video? I've gone through a few and all, like my D500 only show the left side.
I'm wondering if they spoke about the D500, but accidentally showed the back of a different model.

The only thing I see lit up on the right is the green activity light. It lights depending on what is going on, mostly while writing to the buffer. The 'Nikon' at the top of the LCD screen is just highly reflective. I don't see anything special on that camera.
Thanks for the link.

5 minutes & 28 seconds in to the video shows the Nikon logo Format lite.
LOL, he is holding camera by the lens and flipped it upside down.

Check 8 minutes & 5 seconds--------------States all buttons light up.
Send a copy of that video and your camera to Nikon and insist on more lights. I'm sure they could use a good laugh.
