This is from an engagement session I did recently. The first is no retouching,,,the second after I finished. I do my retouching in CS5. A slight dark vignette was added, and a small tweak in levels and curves. Too much? Not enough? Just right?
Like the retouching. Thanks
I also agree that the 2nd one is very good but I would like to see her left hand lighted also. This could just be me.
wow nice job, I'm sure the couple was happy.
retouching is my handicap I'm jealous

Thanks for taking the time to look and comment.
Nice shot but a black shirt with a black background makes his head look as if it is floating in the air. I think there should be some separation between the guy and the background, if the shirt or background were just a shade lighter it would look better.

Thanks for the comment. I may have overdone the vignette a bit,,,but since then it has grown on me :)

Thanks, appreciate the comment. You are probably better at retouching than you know :)

Yeah, there's a story about that, and I can't argue with your statement. He does get lost in there a bit, but I have printed it and he's not completely lost. Without getting into it too much,,,let's just say I was limited on what I could do. I had plenty of lights to use, but that was only one very small part of the entire equation. Normally, what you are talking about would not be an issue. Good observation though. I'm glad it's only an engagement photo.
Nice job on the re-touch. Its looks great.
I like no.2. My only observation besides the black shirt / background is that as it is an engagement function I would have thought the ladies engagement ring should have been prominent.

Good call. I am a fan of a slight vignette, and since her hand is down to the bottom of the picture it does affect the showing of the ring. Hindsight is always 20/20. Thanks.
