EVS vs OVF on Tired old Eyes

It seems to me that for a person who wears substantial reading glasses (+3.0) would be better served using an Optical viewfinder than an electric one. Don't you have to wear them when using an EVF? I know for sure you need them using the screen. And if your distance vision is OK, would you need a diopter adjustment on a OVF?

Most EVFs have a diopter adjustment.

But, to be honest, since i often need to look up from the camera, I keep my glasses on.

There is no difference in term of a person who need glasses. Both EVF and OVF have diopter adjustment and you do need to put the glasses on to see the buttons.

The type of VF shouldn't make any difference to how your eyes see the scene. I have the opposite problem. The viewfinder is fine without glasses, but I need 1X readers to see details on the camera.

The newest EVFs on Sony full frame cameras offer -4 to +3 diopter adjustment capability.

That's pretty impressive.

The A-6000,6300,6500 aps-c offer the same diopter adjustment capability.

As a eyeglass wearer (-4.5 and -5) I much prefer an evf, as I can magnify the image (up to 14x) in the evf for critical focus.
