If you're trying to capture it in one shot, it looks like all options may be compromises. Allowing yourself more captures will allow more possibilities. Whatever you choose, I'd recommend having at least one shot where both faces and both arms and hands are fully visible, preferably with a small gap between the hands.
Because of the N/S alignment, try shooting at noon on a cloudy (or even overcast) day with the sun at your back. You don't want harsh noon light, but at any other time of day, one side will be directly lit while the other side will be in shadow. You can do something with soft (and possibly grey) light in PP.
