There is a Panasonic GX85 with an excellent stabilized kit lens for sale for $475 in today’s Ugly Hedghog Sale section. Well worth thinking about. Very nice little camera.

Thanks, that is mine and it is mint condition. Selling my other M43 gear also. Replacing it with Pentax.

You might take a look at the Sony A6000.
Lots of them around at good prices used.

Yes!

Good choice.

In addition to my Canon cameras, I too have a Sony A-6000. Great little camera for sure. AND I as well chose to buy a Canon Lens adapter so the Sony can utilize all of my Canon Lenses.

I do not think that anyone would go "wrong" in the purchase of this fine camera.

Consider the Olympus OMD EM10 Mark II. Not sure of the exact price, but it has received good reviews. I have the EM 1 Mark II and really like the camera system.

Another vote for Sony a6000. Had it and 3 lenses prime 50, 55-210, 10-18 and kit 16-50 now for 5 years. I was not much of a photographer until I retired and got this set up after being able to borrow it all for over 2 months from a friend who has written 3 books about photography and has sold 100's of prints. Will his assistance and both Gary Friedman's and David Busch's books I am one happy new photographer. As was suggested customizing the fn and 2 other external buttons makes its use so user friendly. I am developing a strong GAS for the new lens, E 18-135. It would be a great always on default lens.

Why are there so many Sony A6000, A6300, and A 6500s for sale, Everywhere. Can they really be that great if everyone is selling them?

Yes they are just that popular, and folks do upgrade from time to time, which gives bargain prices to others for the used cameras. I have an A6500 and A7RIII and I love everything about the A6500 (BTW I am a pro shooter of four decades). The A6000 is more in the budget range of the OP.

Ya, buy a used a6000 and have money left over to buy another lens.

Yup. It's a great way to step into the mirrorless world.

better option than the M50...

Let's see Pen F which is the closest.
Smaller sensor
Lower top ISO
No 4K video
No flash
Cost 300 more and all you get is a body.

Yep a great deal over the M50.
PS you can use any EOS lens ever made on it as well with no loss of function.

Closer probably is the em10iii...but better yet would be the Panasonic Gx85 or Gx9.

Keep drinking the Canon Kool-Aid...it suits you well. When you get your M50, please report back and let us know how well the electronic shutter works in all modes, and how long the battery lasts.

I suggest that you at least look at the Panasonic GX85 and 12-32mm kit lens. I have it, and sold away my Canon DSLR gear. Haven't looked back yet. Also have the Panny 100-300mm II (SUPERB), and an Olympus 40-150mm ($99 NEW). GX85 capable of dual IS too.

Nothing beats Fujifilm X100 series for street photography. I owned A6000 for 2 years until I found the perfect camera for street photography.

I'm new here but have to throw in one more vote to the Sony A6000, bought it used on Craigslist, and couldn't be happier. I Can pursue the depths of digital photography, but I can also put it on Auto, hand it to my wife who just returned with some really good shots of our dog. I'm coming back to photography from a film background, and so far I love this forum.
