Winter hobby.
Been doing this for more than 40 years. I hope my grandsons will learn and continue this art.
Great set and flies Smilenangler.
I’ve been tying for a long time also. Mostly tie steelhead and salmon flies anymore. You do nice work!
Nice parachute. I often use the parachute Adams at dusk for the local trout. My eyes no longer make out an elk hair caddis when the light is failing as dusk approaches. It's almost 3 months until trout season opens here but thanks for the inspiration/reminder.
I find usung yellow post I don'y lose the fly as easily in foam, fast water or realy light

I may try that. That's poly yarn floats like a champ, also use it for down wing on my caddis.

What fish in its right mind wouldn't jump at one of those morsel's. I met one your neighbors yesterday Dave Allabaugh he was up to my town yesterday and done a presentation for our loacal chapter #688. A lot of us old timers up here like Dave like throwing wets and unlike Dave I also enjoy nymphing. TIGHT LINES and I enjoyed your pictures

My brother also ties flies as a hobby (and for use). He's the director of the American Fisheries Society now. He's been in the field his entire life and was awarded Distinguished Alumni from two of his previous colleges. He admits getting tired of all the travel to conferences and his commute is hard (Harrisburg, PA to Bethesda, MD). He sometimes just stays in a motel for a couple nights to work at the office and works form home the rest of the time.
those flies look awesome. too bad I can't use them. I'm a bass fisherman. been doing it for 45 years and never held a fly rod. my bad.
