What catches my attention about the water on the west coast versus the east coast is that the water seems to look bluer on the west coast, greener on the east. I don't know if any processing has been done on this, especially any that affect color, but it is a nice blue and a nice shot.
NO PROCESSING. THAT’S OUR VERY BLUE OCEAN.
I wonder, if you ever do it again, if you might consider zooming out a bit, and getting a little longer view of the wave. Not that this view isn't nice, it's very nice.

THANKS SO MUCH, THAT’S ENCOURAGING. THE ORIGINAL IMAGE SHOWED MUCH MORE OF THE WAVE, BUT I CROPPED IT JUST TO CATCH THE DRAMATIC ACTION AT THAT SECTION OF THE BREAK.

Cheers,
Dick

True. But depends where on the east coast your looking at the sea. I always seen it at the Jersey shore. But while in the navy at around Virginia It looked green and off Florida it looked blue.

It does seem to change at times, and I think a lot depends on depth and sea bottom color. The East coast of Florida seemed bluer than the Gulf, the Gulf, at times, can be very green, but it depends on how far out you are looking and a number of factors. I was struck by the light blue in the picture, and I wondered if that were a processed color or natural, or just the angle that the picture was taken from.

I was in the Navy and spent most of my time off the coast of Vietnam, and the Pacific seems very blue. I saw the ocean under many different circumstances, and some times it is a very light blue and so calm it looks like crystal glass. Other times just a little choppy and a deeper blue. Sometimes there was a green tint to it too though. The ocean is just awesome, and I love these kinds of pictures.

Hi rechleser -

I am probably wrong but I really think this material is just one of the many forms tidal action and a moderate amount of saline based water combine to create. It has been used in the making of smoking pipes (absolutely beautiful works of art) for, literally, centuries. It is commonly referred to as "Meerschaum" (German origin) translated as "sea foam".

All the best to you and yours,

Terry
