To take the drugs are impulse. Takes 30 minutes to make up thier mind if they like them.

No, not really, but if that is what YOU believe. Guns are impulse because _________________??????? Perhaps the use of guns for evil is an impulse or voices telling the shooter to shoot another person but after buying probably 100's of guns since I was 10-12 years old not one did impulse have anything to do with it.

Ban drug advertising just like happened to tobacco products years ago. I'm not talking about baby aspirin. I'm talking about prescription drugs. The ones that tell you to ask your doctor about so and so and then spend half of the commercial talking about the side effects. Your left eyeball might fall out. One leg might get shorter than the other. You might experience puss in your stool. If you experience any of these problems stop taking this drug and consult your doctor right away. What bullshit. It's as bad as the personal injury ambulance chasers. Need to go back to banning attorneys from advertising on TV.

I agree. Every day I see something advertised on television and more often than not when the ad gets to the side effects there are mentions of, Suicidal thoughts, hallucinations, etc. Nope, not for me or anybody with any common sense. The prescribing of drugs should be left up to doctors and not television advertisements.

I want to see a LIST of the doctors in your area alone that have lost their licenses, or is that just FAKE hype?
Yes it a big problem but I don’t know even one person that is on those drugs, or have heard of a doctor in my area that has lost their license, or elsewhere for that matter!

I read your post and I am thinking to myself, I have no idea necessarily what my wife takes for ailments, nor what either of my brothers takes for their ailments. But you seemingly have knowledge of what other people that you know take for their ailments. You must be very close to those people. Do your friends, neighbors, co-workers actually come to you and tell you, I am taking such and such medications?

It just seems rather odd to me.

Nope, GREED! Especially guns

WOW!!! Good to know that I have owned close to maybe 200 guns and it is all due to greed. Hmmmm. I wonder who's greed it is though. It was my decision to purchase the firearm in the first place. I spent my money and got an item I felt was fairly priced at the time. The seller sold me an item for a fair price so he was happy. I am missing out on the greed part. My guns have provided me with thousands of hours of shooting fun, put meat in my freezer every year since I was about 12 years old, protected my home, family and pets from two and four legged predators and so on. Please educate us all on how guns and greed got into a discussion of Newsweek and the opioid crisis. Other than you and Dirt it seems this was going on pretty well. Are you just grasping at straws to interject another topic, Guns, because they are the Liberal evil of the month?

He was correct on so many subjects. This one too.

It all comes down to one word, guns included.... impulse.

I don't quite think guns would be included as an impulse.

Nor does anyone with common sense. It was brought up simply to keep guns in our thoughts. It is a Liberal trick that works only on simple Liberals.

I just went back to the TED link. I had skipped over it at first glance. It should be seen by everyone. That photographer has witnessed a lot of horror over the entire planet. He's probably very lucky to be alive. Here's the link again for anyone who missed it.

Are you talking about doctors and drugs or about lawyers? Kind of fits both.

You folks are not seeing reality.

You want to fix this and that in any order for whatever reason.

Reality is what is the source of all this crap that surrounds us?

Answer this question and become activists to clean up the corrupt system we live in. Band together, form associations, reach to other groups and take over the country from those who have made it what it is. Hold the guilty parties accountable. THEN start fixing problems.

--------
Talk or typing is cheap. I was in a small argument this morning - with a person I respect and appreciate - about guns. She thought I was against all guns (she is a gun owner). When she realized I was against access to military grade weapons and ammo - nothing else - she agreed with me. She works as a nurse and visits folks with mental issues. She also framed this as a 'mental issue' and 'background check' at first.

KIDS are leading the way. Adults are failing 'me' 'me' 'me' comes from the very adults supposed to raise them. I also got mad at an 18 years old this morning. She was saying 'we cannot do anything'. She was defeated before even trying anything. Her father, a correction officer, who also owns a couple of hand guns, agreed with me. Defeats starts early. For once we have a hard powerful reaction from young folks who refuse the 'obstacles' presented to them, the hypocrisy behind 'We will pray for you', behind the political knee jerking from folks paid off. They are young, they are blind and they are learning their power. Beware of the next generation, old folks like us will be held responsible and for good reasons. We have failed the future.

As much press as mass shootings are getting, this is one area where so many lives are being senselessly lost that could be saved with proper oversight and governance. It's beyond me that we have fought a war on drugs and yet one of the most devastating drugs is being manufactured and sold legally.

Because there is money to be made by those who actually rule the country.
