Yes. I would sell your 18-200mm to purchase the Tamron 18-400mm. It has double the focal range over the 18-200mm. Use the money you can get from selling it, and put it towards a new purchase. The Tamron 18-400mm. $649. You won't be sorry.

My Mensa tests gave me a figure of 148. I'm told that is not bad.

Instead of considering only the 18 - 400 you might consider keeping the 18-200 and purchasing a Nikon AF-P 70 - 300 ($400 new Nikon USA or $200. grey market) Here's why. The 18 - 400 means you would always be carrying the extra weight whether you need it or not. The Nikon AF-P 70-300 DX is a remarkably sharp lens throughout its range and especially at 300mm -- possible only because its zoom range is a modest 4:1. There's just no way an ultra long zoom range can match that. Yes you would have to change lenses. Only you can determine how much of an imposition that is, and how much you care about the extra increment of sharpness that buys you.

By the way, at half price, the grey market risk was acceptable to me and many others who would not otherwise consider a grey market or used lens.

That's you, I will take that into consideration when I do decided to purchase a different lens, sharpness definitely makes a huge difference to me.

The Nikon 18-200mm is a very popular lens today. On a lens. such as the Tamron 18-400mm, you will likely have some sharpness issues on the long end. However, the photos posted by some on this forum, by the Tamron18-400mm did not look bad to me. Tamron produced this lens, specifically for crop sensor cameras, as a one only all around lens. And it is selling very well. Even among uhh members. However, the choice is for you to make. I just gave you my opinion. But consider others. I suggest you do a UHH Search on the Tamron 18-400mm. Good luck.
