Hi there,

I recently purchased a Lightbox for Macro Photography and I was wondering if any of you guys have used it. Do you like it or not? This is what it looks like.

I have that type and it works well; not necessary to match light sources on sides for more definition

Mine is a little different but the concept is the same. That said, it doesn't get a lot of use. Better to have it & not need it than need it and not have it though.

Never used a lightbox and I don't think I ever will.

If that’s a “macro” setup, you must be using an 8 x 10 camera!

I have something similar that I use for ebay photography. No lights, though. How does the lighting system work?

I went the DIY option and constructed an inexpensive Lightbox. I started with a medium size packing box from one of the Lowes or Home Depot. I cut out "windows" on the top and the two sides, and then covered those windows with Wax Paper (stolen from the kitchen). Some work lights placed on each side, by the windows.
The final step was to purchase some white and black poster board (at the Dollar Store), and I was able to create a single surface to cover the bottom and back of my Lightbox.

Works well. And it was cheap. Much less than $10 (since I used existing lights), The lights I am using cost about $10 each at Target.

I found the instructions on SkillShare -- there was a short course on how to build this Lightbox.
