Upper Florida Keys.
The Florida Keys is one of my favorite destinations. I like to spend weekends there and photograph. Sometimes the difference between shooting a sunrise and a sunset are only a few steps away.
This past weekend it was very busy, not only because of the long weekend but also because we are at the peak of the tourist season. For the following images I used my D7000 with the 18-200 f3.5-5.6 VR lens for all the shots. When I used my tripod VR was off. I used spot metering for all images with Aperture Priority but I made exposure compensation when it was indicated.
1- Rowing in upper Key Largo at sunset.
2- Whale Harbor Lighthouse, Islamorada at sunrise
3- Sunset, Key Largo.
4- Sunrise, Islamorada, Florida Keys.

Terrific photos. The last one is especially awe-inspiring. What can you tell me about how it was taken?
Am headed to key largo Thursday for two weeks.
Excellent series. I have the Keys on my "bucket list". I was in Key West briefly off of a cruise ship but would love to make the complete drive down. I am sure that the photo ops are abundant!

A moody set, and an excellent evocation of "place".
Candy to the eyes... good stuff...
Gentlemen you are all very kind. I thank you all for your comments on my work. Plenty of shooting opportunities in the Florida Keys.

I had just photographed the lighthouse at Whale Harbor in Islamorada. I had to hurry up because the first light of that morning was beginning to show up over the horizon so I walked past the marina looking for a place from where I could have a good view of the sunrise. The solitary tree called my attention and luckily I found the ideal composition I wanted so I set my tripod and used spot metering from a bright area slightly up the horizon opening one stop to make that areas bright. The rest was done with editing using Affinity Photo.
A very beautiful set, William!
Thank you for the nice comments.
