I'd use a bean bag as to not crack a window with a clamp.

Right. I never liked the idea of clamps on glass. Although a beanbag would be ideal, any kind of a soft bundle from home would work.

Puffin Pad Pro, if you can find one. Wonderful device but the maker retired and the company is now for sale. It made for the perfect window mount though, I have two of them.

got mine from you years ago

I use a pool play noodle available any hardware or Walmart store, less than $5. Cut a length to fit the window when half open and slit lengthwise, it's a nice cushion. I can tuck it under or beside my seat, access always there for cheap. Thanks to another UHH member - can't remember his name.

My wife and I have used noodles for years, they provide great support and their CHEAP.

What is a good stable camera support when shooting from inside a car. Specifically something to use when shooting from the drivers side car window.

Thanks

I use a double folded microfiber cloth... works great and doesn't leave any marks on anything...

I bought a suction cup mount from B&H, on sale a couple of years ago. I always have it in my car. Mine has 2 cups but another Hogger linked to others that had 3 cups.
I just took a quick look for it & couldn’t find it but I’m sure a search or call to them would help.

I never realized that shooting out a car window was an industry. What happened to getting out and walking around? Now I know who takes all those boring landscapes.

Cut a pool noodle to the desired width. Then, cut a shallow slit the length of the piece you are going to use. Slip it over the window.

I would go with a bean bag and nothing else.
I am not an advocate of using window glass in a structural manner for obvious reasons. Yes I know people do it but I would never do it.
Bean bag allows for instant mobility and mounts and dismounts near instantly for a quick animal shot where time is of the essence.

Really cheap and easy way to go is to get a piece of that gray pipe insulation and cut it longway down the center, then just pop it on the window.

Works every time... I use a pool noodle!

Manfratto makes a good one that I have had for five years. No broken windows.

I have one and with sane use I can’t see a problem.

My process is to have just enough window raised for it to attach and use relatively light lenses.

When shooting something like an 80-200 I use a beanbag.

Lightning quick instances I hang an arm out a window.
