In January I had the wonderful experience of spending a week in the Canadian Rockies with three fantastic photography friends.
As we drove from Banff to Jasper we had to keep saying "oh wow" as around each corner was another majestic sight. there was not a lot of pill offs for stopping for pictures, and especially in the winter some of them were full of snow--so I just had to settle for shooting out the front window, most of the time
Well done! Must have kept the windshield clean.
Fabulous shots!! I traveled there in Jun - Aug in 72'. Not the same without the snow, but still majestic!

everytime we stopped for gas I cleaned the windshield!
plus I have found that when shooting through the windows, the glass acts like a great polarizer
Fantastic scenery for photography.
I would have thought that there would have been more snow on the roadsides in January.
How long was the drive?
Thanks for sharing.

they are having kind of a snowless winter--not good for the skiers
I am not sure of the exact distance--we stopped at different places overnight along the way and beings I wasn't driving I didn't really pay attention. It is driveable in a day with not too much stopping--but that's no fun!
Way to go. Handheld I presume. I've been thinking of buying a dedicated dashboard cam just for this purpose.
On my bucket list. Live near Chicago and need to plan what is the best way to fly there....what city to fly into.
Calgary, Alberta would be best.

dang--no there was not!
We ended up with a smaller vehicle than requested and we were so packed in and had to hold stuff on our laps a lot of the time--that was not good, but we managed. just had to keep eating our snacks to make more room!

we flew into Calgary and rented a vehicle there. Make reservations for hotels early--it is a busy place, both summer and winter
