Have a hard time worrying about "grey market" since I've never had a Nikon break. Have my original Nikon "F" and it still works fine. It started out banging around the streets of DC as a working press camera. (They were built really tough in those days)

Reasonably priced cameras on Ebay are (most likely) gray market. Some people say NEVER buy gray market. I've purchased three gray market cameras through Ebay; I have never had problems with them; they are still functioning long after the Nikon USA warranty would have expired. I knew what I was getting when purchasing them and knew the risks involved and (these times) the risks paid off.

I disagree. Most “new” too good to be true prices are likely gray. Most of the used are US. Ask for the serial number and check it.

I’ve seen most used go between $650-$750 Plus shipping with no warrantee. Buy refurb for $700 and sleep well at night...

I’ve recently been searching on Craigslist for a good used Nikon D7200 the prices seem to hover around $750/$900 for body only with shutter counts as low as 20k to well over 50k.

I decided to check eBay to see how much they are going for there and have noticed quite a few for $630 to $700 brand new. Sellers list that they are shipping from New York to LA with a few from Hong Kong. If anyone has any insight or experience please help.

Thank you

People have been mugged, raped and even killed using Craigslist. Scammers abound.

Have not heard about that happening on eBay in 20 years of buying and selling mostly photo gear on eBay. I have over 1000 positive feedbacks on my eBay accounts and I don't buy from those who do not have the same.

Does that answer your question?

Refurbished D7200's around $850.00 to $900.00 last time I checked. I would tend to go with refurbished rather than used. That being said I would also buy a refurbished model from Nikon USA, Adorama, B&H or Cameta.
Did purchase a VERY good used one from Carter (MT Shooter) from his Camera Cottage store. Timing was just right. Less than 3,000 clicks.
