I have been using Norton 360 on my Dell laptop for several years that serves me good, now I got a new Dell laptop coming with three year protection from McAfree. I don't know how will the McAfree work. Since the Norton will cover my new laptop without extra charge from my account on my old laptop which I will continue to use. Will they interfere each other and cause problem?
Best not to run 2 different antivirus programs on the same computer....
No, it'll be a miserable experience as both anti-virus programs will insist on uninstalling each other. I have several Dells with McAffee, and regardless of the personal ethics of it's founder, the program works fine. You'll also have Windows Defender lurking in the background.

Absolutely Not!
Aside from both being CRAP-period. In 25 years of computer consulting I thank both Norton and McAfee for many dollars paid to me to correct their single use problems, antivirus programs run together cause conflicts.
Horrible programs both.
In fact, if you are running Windows 10, Windows Defender is already included and the best defense against viruses. Then for other Malware like spyware, and others, the best defense is the paid, realiime version of Malwarebytes from the Malwarebytes web site.
To clean up cache files, and other garbage, use CCleaner from Piriform software site.
All other download sites are conflicted and load more garbage than they clean. Spyware comes from the routine software download sites. McAfee particularly is rampant with frequent bad updates.
So, my referrals on this are the Microsoft Essentials.... MSSE for Windows 7 and older and Windows Defendor provided with 10, and Malwayebytes and CCleaner. No conflicts among those three.

Bad idea, they be fighting each other and slowing your computer to a crawl, escpecially with Norton involved!

Yes they will. Never used two competing antivirus programs at the same time

He is completely right about McAfee and Norton. I have had several people bring me their system and the only problem was that one of these were installed. I must say that he is also right about Malwarebytes and CCleaner (used to be “Crap Cleaner” back in the day). Those are the only 2 programs that I put on a new build or if someone one has me clean a system. I use the Microsoft antivirus as I have never had a problem with this and everyone loves the price. This serves very well. I’ve been an IT Manager for years and I have never had a problem. Good luck. ~Mike

Best response. First thing I do on a new Dell is remove the McAfee stuff. It argues with me, but I get it off the machine. Norton's and McAfee are both resource hogs.
I had all kinds of problems when I used McAfee...blue screens, viruses, freezes, slow running, etc. I haven't had a single problem since switching to BitDefender several years ago.

Yes, I mainly use my computer for photography, the old one is slow and with a small hard drive, that's why I brought a new one with large hard drive and runs much faster.
By the way, I want to thank every one who responding and now I got the idea , thank you very much!
