I think the rifle is a rather rare Whitney-Scharf 44-40, vintage 1886. The rounds in her bandolier appear to be correct. Unless those rounds we see are 44 magnum for her two Smith 629-8" in her holsters.😳 The magazine on the Whitney would hold 13 rounds and the 28" barrel would provide excellent control. This lady would be high on G. Gordon Liddy's list. I'm just sayin'. Oh, and the overall image is very well framed and lit. Noce work!

The round tube below the hexagonal barrel is called a tube magazine. It's not a second barrel. So not a shotgun, but a rifle. 44 (sometimes called 44-40 is a decent bet. I would not mess with her and only address her, "Yes Ma'am."

That may be a Winchester Model 73, which was produced in caliber 44-40.

Rifle? It looks more like a shotgun.

There are several definitive posts that clearly describe this piece as a rifle. Recommend you go back and review them.

Taken the same day as the last one with her but I can't tell you if the bullets from the bandolier fit the rifle.

Well, pilgrim, that little lady looks like she could be a real challenge. Great shot!

Great image, for us NE cowboys ( i'm a new guy here just lurking and learning, thanks to you all for giving your time and your knowledge)
Based on the last pix posted the rifle is a Winchester 92 which replaced the 73
The Whitney's had round barrels I believe and the loading gate was forward on the receiver. the Win 73 had a plate on the receiver among other differences.
Thanks for posting you image

The cartridges on the bandolier look to be 44-40. The rifle was identified yesterday as a 32-20. Big difference in caliber and usage.

It's just a prop Dennis. Thank you for identifying my inaccuracy. On my book coming out later this year "Portraits of Courage and Conviction" I have historians working with me to make sure we do everything just right.
