The first is the middle bracketed image in a series of 7 images 1 stop apart.
The second is the HDR that was processed in Photoshop CS5. I didn't like how my HDR images looked using Photoshop CS5 so I Googled how to tips. I managed to find a tutorial by Scott Kelby where he gave all the settings to make a preset. I used his numbers and the image looks much better than any of the presets already in Photoshop.
I was considering buying Photomatix, but after seeing the results possible in Photoshop, I think I'll hold off on that for now.
Thanks Sue for contributing. I like the station, I love old gas pumps. I'm also glad I got the bugs worked out, and people can start posting here. Hopefully others will join us soon. LOL

A very nice look to it (I sometimes like the more vivid HDRs). And the HDR has done its job. The shadow details under the table have not been lost and the highlights in the sky have not been lost.
Very nice. The subject lends to HDR for sure and you dida great pp job.
Nice HDR treatment Sue. The subject lends itself well to HDR. I tried using my Photoshop Elements 10 to process the HDR photos but didn't like the results. I tried everything they had available, but the HDR results "weren't there".
Presently the Fusion 2.2 (free ware) is working good, but I'm still looking for something better. I may end up purchasing Photomatrix and just get it over with.
I would not have thought about even commenting on the original shot, but after the HDR, that shot was brought to life, I never used the HDR in cs5, I have photomatrix and a soft HDR program called enfuse that is a plugin for Lightroom.
very nice subject matter for HDR
