Just saw the Fuji X-A5 announcement. Looks like a powerful little mirrorless, especially for the price of $599 with kit lens. Has anyone handled one yet? I'd be interested to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance.

Could be good - and probably will - but I don't like the term "entry level." Even as a beginner, I would like to start several steps up the ladder. I look forward to reviews, but I hope I'm not tempted to buy one. : )
Nice specs -

Jerry, thanks for the reply. I know, I hope that I'm not tempted but it looks good so far. I have a whole Nikon DSLR kit that I'm really happy with and have been waiting for their mirrorless for a smaller travel bag, but at that price ...
No eye view finder, not interested
I agree with sergiohm, no viewfinder, no sale. Too hard to see a screen in the sun.

Good point, sergiohm and Bo0mer.
As you can see while Canon and Nikon still have not figured out what to do with mirrorless cameras Olympus, Sony and Fuji are way ahead in the game.

You're right, Camerapapi. I'm Nikon loyal but I'm also tired of waiting!

Looks and sounds neat. Not out til March.
Did you know that Fuji once had a film SLR named the AX-5? Marketing guys need to be more creative.

I'm sure that was deliberate. Creative is in the eye of the beholder.
If you do not mind buying a Panasonic camera....
I had one for 15 days, could not get a decent picture on it, it was a higher model (about $1K).
I returned it but Panasonic charged me 15% restocking fee (which to me is outrageous).
Other issue is the software that came with it had English support but it looked like Japanese ....
Their raw format is not universally supported either
And the G9 is $1.7K hardly entry level

My comment was directed towards someone that was waiting for Nikon. The rumored nikon will not be an entry level camera either. As to your experience using a Panasonic camera, it's a shame you had a bad experience as their gear, especially their newer cameras are great. Which camera in particular did you have issues with...and which lens were you using with it?

The X-A5 does have an eye view finder. Upper right hand corner. I wouldn't want it either if it didn't have that. I will be tempted to buy it just to have another toy.
