Apparently building an adapter is tougher than it appears from this distance - Metabones claims they made the Nikon version first because they had done Nikon already; trouble is that I don't have any Nikon lenses - I do have a Takumar 50mm f/1.4 if they ever get around to doing M42-mount and a Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7 if they ever get around to doing K-mount.

The APS-C to FF idea is intriguing. They have glass in the adapter anyway, so they could put more in to compensate for the thickness. I guess they make a negative TC, even, to gain even more "speed".

Added Note: as I've commented several times in threads about cleaning sensors, my Pentaxes have auto-sensor-clean turned on, and I've never had to manually clean their sensors

I've emailed metabones, as it wasn't in the faq. The adaptall lenses might be easiest to do since the lens mount is removable.
my sp90 as a f1.7 lens and closer to a full frame 90mm field of view would be very nice.

Takes K-mount lenses.

Doesn't cost a small fortune

May be a long wait - their identity is embodied in their {superior} pentaprism .... unlike Canikon, this is used even in bottom-of-the-line models.

They didn't call them selves PENTAx for nuttin'!

Late yesterday, Ricoh (the parent company of Pentax) issued a statement saying the K-1 is still being manufactured and sold, and that the rumors about an upgraded model were just that-rumors.
Please provide a link .... the "K-1 canceled" and "K-1ii" news both come from usually reliable sources.

I got my info from the webmaster of Pentax K-1 Forum on Facebook. He said he received the news in a call from Pentax USA in Denver.

I don't have a Facebook account, so I don't know anything about this guy, but this may fall under the category of "fake news".

The office in Denver was closed almost two years ago and the employees were fired or assigned elsewhere. Apparently management of the Pentax brand in the USA is diffuse, handled by Ricoh employees in New Jersey and Georgia amongst places.

Since I don't have a Facebook account, I don't know anything about this "K-1 forum", such as who it is connected to and even how long this place has been around. And this is a problem in general with the Internet - anyone can go into business claiming anything, and it takes time to sort out who actually knows what. In my profession as a computer developer, I encountered some young men @ LinkedIn who had been hoodwinked into believing something by a web site; I could demonstrate to them that the web site had mislead them, but I couldn't do anything about the web site itself.

Do you remember the opening of the old "Dudley Duright" cartoon, where the usually helpless heroine says in her breathless clueless voice, "If it says it so in the newspaper, it must be true"? Oh for even that level of truth!!
