The exposure is just right despite the great dynamic range. Good work here.
Thank you. Shot in P mode and compensated visually based upon the screen. Contrary to what I have done before, this was hand-held (I was on a slope) and used spot metering only because I forgot to go into any other mode. Balanced the exposures in LR. I was lucky on the dynamic range. The sky and sun on the left were blown out but still looked good.
We only have 2 seasons in coastal California: Day and Night.
Image is beautiful. Where in Solvang did you shoot the pano?
Thank you. Mission Road or Route 246 runs east-west through Solvang. At the eastern town limit and south side of the road is a private drive the heads up steeply to homes. I shot from there. Let me know if you need more information.
I am visiting here. In Chicago, we have two seasons too: winter and construction.
I shot from there. Let me know if you need more information
No, I know the area very well and am up in Santa Ynez/Solvang about once every other month. Just down the road from Solvang is the exit for Santa Ynez, home of some of the most amazing California wineries south of Paso Robles. Next time, visit Bridlewood, Brander, Beckman and Curtis.
