Scott, those of us who regularly see your excellent work are pleased that you shared this milestone with us. I agree that it is a humbling experience but you should also be proud that so many people find your work interesting and worthwhile!

What you managed was to run out of arguments. Careful not to trip on those shoes.

Someone such as this could stand some humility in their lives...

Congratulations on your milestone. It is hard to get those views and one can be humbled and still have pride at the accomplishment. It means that your public value your work and are willing to look. By the way what is you flickr address?

You now have over two million and one views. Some nice pictures there, from which we can all draw enjoyment and inspiration, if we are not too 'proud'. Thank you.

I took a look at your Flicker stream. Excellent! Not one picture there I wouldn't be proud to have taken myself. Nice work and congrats on your accomplishment.

Incorrect. In my case is called been honest. Of course some here leave their own dignity outside when connected to the site and feel the need to say what they consider to be "politically correct". IMO, is in terrible bad taste to start such a thread. It truly comes as immature bragging and takes away from what is otherwise a nice collection of images. Try to conserve your dignity and honesty the next time you feel this uncontrollable need to kiss butt.

You know good and well honesty is a quality to be eschewed by many posters on this site.

I did choose my subject line without thinking. It's not meant to brag but I was surprised at the number of views. I have seen many others images on Flickr from others that put mine to shame. My images are more of a Journalistic/Scientific theme and not Fine Art. I've been amazed by the quality of any number of Fine Art images on Flickr. Long ago I used to put my images in groups but stopped that years ago. Once again, I want to thank those who have made nice comments & apologize to anyone who thought I was bragging as that was not my intent...

Please note that is nothing wrong about bragging, after all, this is what awards are about.

I just took exception to the title.

When I am humbled it means I been showed that I was wrong about something.

humble

Reality reminders always welcomed (by me).

Can we just confine our comments to the technical and dispense with the armchair psychoanalysis?

Wow! I know writers who only dream of that kind of "viewership." To get a book published, agents look more for the size of one's platform than the quality of the writing. (Platform in that world refers to the number of people who are interested in what you do). With a platform of over two million viewers, any manuscript of yours would be given serious consideration and editorial assistance to get the book into shape. Publishers are, more than anything else, businesses in search of profits. Even if the quality of your writing is outstanding, it doesn't do anyone any good if there's no prospective readership out there. So now, just think about how you can leverage this advantage of yours to even greater advantage.

I hear you. Its funny how some people, who have NEVER posted a single image here, call me jealous. Please, grow up, its not kindergarten anymore. What some here are celebrating is misplaced bragging and fake humbleness. If that is what you want to do, shame on you. An idiot even tried to compare my Flickr views to the OP's. I joined in 2013.....the OP in 2005. Thats 13 years...... Also he has been quite occupied following more thab 600 photographers there.....who, of course following back. That will make your images exposed to a lot of more viewers and that is a good thing dont get me wrong. In my case I am not interested in been widely recognized. This to me is just one of my many hobbies. In 5 years Ive gathered more than 300,000 views and I dont really care.... Are those views a good thing? Are they bad? Really dont care, but I bet the same idiot who tried to go there wished to at least have a half of those. I know the quality of my work and I am VERY satisfied with my images....perhaps jealousy comes from other places? Who knows? Again I dont really care.

People have been preoccupied to be politically correct at all times that they end up promoting all this hypocrisy and dishonesty. If I see something I dont like is better to shut up and move to another thread....and why is that? Why can I tell it like it is? Who are you to dictate when to speak and when to shut up? I bet a LOT here think as I do but choose to not say anything to avoid the usual hypocritical and butt kissing bandwagon here. From time to time is healthy to shake the tree and see what comes down. I see here that a lot of shoes fell down....and found its users.

Good show, Scott. What do you contribute your success to? Did you have many of your fine photos picked by the Explore Group? Cheers.
