Has anyone used this tamron lens? 18-400 is very tempting for a walk-about, but I don't want to just up and buy!
Thanks for any info.

I bought this lens a few months back. Have not used it extensively yet but the photos I have taken are quite acceptable. Great as a walk around, a little soft at 400mm but I quite like it. I am using it on a Canon Mark 11. Easy to use hand held. B&H might still have them on sale if you are in the U.S.

Thanks, may be buying it too! Sounds like a really good travel lens.
I purchased this lens about 9 months ago I am a press photographer in NJ What a relief. I no longer have to lug additional lenses with me. Once you use and get familiar with it's characteristics it works like a charm indoors and outdoors, sunlight or low light the secret is to use it a lot It will become your best friend. Oh, and it's affordable Thank you Tamron
I might have, but I bought the 16-300 and it is also an awesome lens with a little wider bottom end.

Check out my photos on this site. I'm using this glass for all of them and for the most part am pleased with my results (see my New Orleans photos for examples). Anxious to do the moon tonight and tomorrow night.

Bought this lens about 7 months ago and have not regretted once. The AF is fast and quiet. Even easy to hand hold. On a crop sensor it's about 28-640mm. A great travel lens.

Mine is on a Canon 80D. Very pleased with most of the photos. Very good all-purpose lens.
