I live in the Sonoran Desert. Your images are excellent. An old Pima indian told me this story. The number of arms on a Saguaro are indicative of the number of times a Pima Warrior has been married. All of the arms pointing up are the marriages that worked and the arms pointing down are the marriages that did not work.

Good shots. I'm jealous. I love that area, especially in early Spring.

Thank you Murray! I've lived in Phoenix and been to Tucson before. But, down to the SW for Organ Pipe was a completely new trip. Glad you enjoyed.

Thank you mdougc! I remember driving in Phoenix with the windows open and it smelled like perfume from the flowers. Glad you enjoyed.

Nicely done. I found some of the most beautiful saguaros at Organ Pipe - the road to the west.

Thank you AzPicLady! I underestimated the drive to Organ Pipe from Tuscon. I ended up with only an afternoon and even had to cut short a hike trying to get to an arch before getting caught in the desert in the dark. Driving out while still light, the road took me past some lovely Saguaro, something I would have missed if I'd remained hiking. Glad you enjoyed.

You obviously had (or are having) a great trip. Thanks for sharing your excellent images and the stories behind them.

Thank you lsimpkins! The 3-week trip ended Dec 31 and I've nearly finished all the edits from images captured from all but 3 days of the trip. Glad you enjoyed.

Keep those photos and commentaries coming. They're great!

Thank you shieldsadvert! It was fun to edit together way too much information into smaller bits that related a story along with the images. Glad you enjoyed.

My Paul good work. Love the images and the narrative. Looks a lot warmer than Chi or S. E. Idaho. I am blue with cold and green with envy. Looks like you have had some great travels.

Thank you JR. Although we're back above freezing for much of the day in Chicago, we won't be warm until mid April ... Glad you enjoyed.

Really nice photographs and documentation. When you mentioned exclusivity, you are correct. Saguaho especially do not flourish much outside of the Arizona state lines. As you also noted, certain areas are more populated with cactus of these types than others. Very good work.

Thanks Bob! Some comments I found made it seem the larger Saguaro are near Tucson where they receive more water. I'd never seen them with the arms nor the height like I found in Tuscon Mountain Park. Glad you enjoyed.

very nice set I really like the wind mill

Thanks LennyP4868! I was borderline lost when passing this wind mill. Actually, I wasn't as lost as not finding the remote pioneer cemeteries I was searching for out in the mountains around small towns near the southern US border. Glad you enjoyed.
