Pity the members of Congress who are facing a shortage of towels in their exclusive gym.

They are suffering from more than a shutdown, they are suffering from ineptness, over inflated egos and on and on ,I could go on but why beat a dead horse. They are politicians, a breed all their own.

Please go to a good directory and read all the definitions of the word "Congress". I believe the one concerning a group of baboons fits nicely. However, look in the mirror, who reelects these clowns? Over and over. Term limits would never pass, however an informed and active voting population can impose term limits at the ballot box.

Every member of that elite group of morons (R&D) should have to go without pay and have to be covered under the Affordable Care Act then watch how quickly things get fixed!

Reminds me of a very old joke: Do youmknow the diff between a daycare and Congress? There is usually an adult in charge at the daycare.

Just so you all understand, when the government shuts down, and it happens more often than you hear about, the federal employees do not have to show up for work, and when the shut down is solved they all get their full pay. I know this because my better half worked for the federal government for 35 yrs and this is true. So when a congress person suggest that they propose a bill to not pay them, it is pretty ingenuous. This whole thing is pure political BS. One party trying to insert language into the spending bill that has not been approved by the finance committee that should be a stand alone bill, and the other party saying lets approve the spending plan and work on this as a separate bill.

Its you money. see how they spend it.

I beg to differ with you about Federal Employees not having to show up for work. Many employees are required to work during shutdowns and they do not know if or when they will be paid. Yes, Congress usually passes a bill that says everyone, Furloughed or otherwise, will be paid. I worked this past Monday as did many of the people I work with. It depends on how a specific job is classified. The entire government does not shut down.
