Beautiful shot, Brent. Like something out of an old "Film Noir" movie ("photo noir??). Was thinking that your "pet gull" really makes a great element to the image.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cameraf4..........YOU picked up on the gull! I wasn't going to say anything about that bird and just see if anyone else saw it. cameraf4 you can go to the head of the class! I also really like that gull in there.........it's a fun detail that at first the viewer doesn't see. Thanks cameraf4.

Sorry for the lame title of "Pier into the fog".
how about "peering into the fog at the pier"...lol.
your title is fine, and that's a great foggy shot, brent!
Your shots always bring me home for a little while. Love what you shoot.
Still a pretty shot Brent

Sure merrytexan, that works too......why not? I was just hoping that everyone would get the double meaning with peer and pier.
Thanks merrytexan for saying it's a great foggy shot. I appreciate the support with this photo.

nhastings, you are to kind! Thank you very much! You live in Telluride which is an amazing place to live. I'm sure you have a wealth of photo opps going on there. I used to be an ice climber.......at the end of your canyon, you have all kinds of great ice climbing photo opps. I'd love to see some! The character of your town is awesome too.
Thanks for saying "love what you shoot" nhastings........I appreciate it very much!

Foggy days are rare in most parts of the country, but they result in excellent photo opportunities. (The ducks are sharp in the original.) Minolta SRT 201. 50mm lens. >Alan

I liked your using "Pier" over "Peer". It preps the viewer for what they are about to see. That why I suggested "Piering" rather than "Peering". I just felt the use of "Piering" was more inviting for people to look for what you were looking at and saw. It was just a thought and takes nothing away from how good the photo is. It still is going to be a really good photo no matter what it is titled.
Homophones: Words that sound alike, but have different meanings and have different spellings. Nice example in peer and pier.
Well, you won't find me "railing" about lame titles, if you catch my drift, since my own puns are legend to my friends, and not always for good reasons. But while we're at it, how about "Disappier?"
Love the gull as a counterpoint--adds a dynamic touch to the quiet mood. Others have spoken about the colors...I know I'd at least try it as a b&w. But that's me. Fine as it is.
