Do ice fishermen use ice cubes for bait?

Not this year in Utah, been too warm, the lakes I usually go on have no ice. Going to be pushing 60 deg tomorrow (normally it's around 25 this time of year) so the cubes would just melt anyway :)

Nah. They use it to catch fish cakes. Frozen, of course.
Yes, it's an old Indian trick, the fish stick to the ice cube like ones tongue to a steel pole.
